Did you know? 74% of respondents feel that original content and media are most effective for generating marketing ROI.
OK, I admit it. Even though I’m obsessing over the release date for the iPhone 5, some days I feel like a technological Luddite. I have avoided touching Angry Birds, and why would I need another photo-sharing app or browser named Chrome?
Last week, Google Chrome finally sucked me in with their release of the song “All Is Not Lost,” as an interactive video, demonstrating the capabilities of HTML5 and Chrome, all the while offering a message of hope to post-catastrophe Japan.
Chrome assembled a dream team that pushed several of my buttons, pairing OK Go, the band made famous by their viral videos like the treadmill-featuring Here It Goes Again, (watch all their videos here) with the dance troupe Pilobolus, a favorite of mine since college.
The New York Times originally announced the vid and offered a photo journal on Sunday. And there’s even a 3-D version available exclusively on the new Nintendo 3DS™ system (which doesn’t require special glasses).
Here’s the “regular” video on YouTube, but the full, interactive experience is only at www.allisnotlo.st
All the hype paid off for me. I love the tiling effect and the inventive typography which gave a new meaning to serifs (the “little feet” on a letter). Plus it is amazing what can be done with Google Chrome and HTML5.
So have you seen the interactivity yet? It’s worth exploring. And if you take the plunge don’t miss the capabilities showcased in last year’s Arcade Fire interactive film either. It’s some amazing hometown fun.
Oh, and the free Angry Birds works great on Google Chrome too.
