Many folks (me included) are not thrilled with AT&T iPhone service. Have I bashed AT&T? Yes. Did I buy into the general premise that there was general dissatisfaction with their service? Yes. Why? Probably in large part, based on gripes I've heard from fellow members of marketing and tech communities and recent press I've read about the tension-filled relationship between AT&T and Apple. Boy, was I wrong! According to research from the Yankee Group, 73% of iPhone users are very satisfied with AT&T's service. Is there probably a "halo effect" with the iPhone itself? Probably. Is 73% great. Not really. But, it's pretty good. Definitely not lousy. Lesson learned: Don't believe you know what's going on in the B2B marketplace based solely on what you hear from people who think like you (the echo chamber effect) and what you read in the press. Find out what the marketplace really thinks.
