Challenge

As an industry leader, Bosch Rexroth wanted to promote discussion of the technology challenges facing the food and packaging industry. The more the target audience knew about and understood the advanced technology available for the industry, the company felt, the more likely OEM design engineers were to select Bosch Rexroth for applications assistance.



Solution

Godfrey worked with our media partner, Packaging World (Summit Publishing) to develop an independent blog featuring Keith Campbell, a retired Hershey Foods executive well-known in the packaging industry. The blog relied on the author’s three decades of experience in packaging equipment and control systems, and addressed key topics like reliability, manufacturing flexibility, standards, sustainability and other subjects the industry is talking about.



Results

Traffic has grown steadily from 306 unique visitors in February 2007 to 1,470 in August 2007 to 2,133 in February 2008, a six-fold increase in one year. And the number of comments or responses to the blog has gone from zero to 88, an indication of true user involvement in the information. A skyscraper on the site received 10,240 impressions in a year and produced leads at a cost of $19 each.
